Graphic Design + Sculptural Installations

2017 - Hongqiao + Pudong Airports - Shanghai, China

To celebrate the Year of the Rooster, a decorative scheme was devised for the airport which celebrates traditional Chinese New Year motifs while expressing Shanghai's vibrant, contemporary international identity.

Comprised of three separate sculptures, posters, and graphic design elements throughout Hongqiao Airport's Terminal 2, a bright red flying chicken stands ready for takeoff and landing, surrounded by cute baby chickens and a voxelized diorama of Shanghai's iconic skyline.

Standing in the departure hall and at the luggage reclaim area, the sculptures greet new arrivals coming home to the city while wishing a happy new year to people flying home for the holiday. Brightly lit and vibrant, they express the spirit of celebration and excitement for the new year.
